Good morning Gerhard;
Thank you for your question and above all thank you for the reflection prior to your question, which shows a balanced, calm and conscious posture. Please note that I don't think I am capable of making judgments about anyone, namely through a simple post, here on the forum. This is just my opinion. In fact, today we are experiencing troubled moments all over the planet. Whether for the coronavirus or cos the oil wars or for any other reason, political, religious or economic.
There are also those who admit that all economies will suffer serious effects, some will go into recession and others will collapse.
You gave us an example of bitcoin and ethereum and all other crypto's that are falling. I can advance other data such as stock exchanges, commodities exchanges and many other problems.
Although the answer to your question is, YES!...a big YES. GDC and YtC will survive. There is a high number of probabilities of this happening, and it will not be due to the work and grace of the Holy Spirit, but rather due to many superiorly thought out, and defined strategies. Notice that despite everything mentioned above, The young MarketPlace is taking its first steps and it is true that just a few deals have been closed. As for the Exchange, it is also certain that a very few transactions took place. It is normal in this scenario! Contrary to what many people think, the Exchange is not a currency-issuing bank that buys currency from those who want to sell it, and sells to those who want to buy. The Exchange is a structure that makes the intermediation between sellers and buyers. For this to work, there must be actors on both sides. The companies that have been invited and those that are being invited to operate within the MarketPlace, will have to buy YtC's to do so, but don't want the impatients to force them to do so, right now. In summary, there are two words that are currently absent from the vocabulary of many, many people, but that once taken up and put into practice, will leverage all businesses within the GDC and also in all economies around the world: CREDIT and CONFIDENCE!
